With over 20 unique classes, from Vinyasa to Qigong to Rebirthing Breathwork to Yoga Nidra, taught by an internationally-trained, highly experienced and extremely diverse team of instructors, trainers and leaders in their field, we are in full gratitude to offer you the widest depth and breath of yogic techniques offered on our Isle of the Gods, a magical place called Bali. A magical place we call Home.

Our signature Vinyasa class, this dynamic, energetically and physically demanding class will incorporate all the aspects of a Vinyasa-based class set to a fun music playlist. By connecting breath to movement in this class, you’ll deepen your ujjayi breath, learn creative sequencing, practice getting into “peak” poses and feel simply amazing after a long savasana. Be ready to flow, sweat and breath!

Bhakti Vinyasa is a strengthening, soulful, and devotional physical yoga practice fusing the principles of hatha vinyasa yoga and the qualities of Bhakti Yoga (gratitude, open-heartedness, humility, compassion, and devotion). We will explore a wide range of yogic tools and techniques including mantra chanting, inspirational quotes from great yogic saints, mystical poetry, prayer, visualizations, affirmations, creative movement, aromatherapy, and much more to enhance and uplift your transformative yoga experience. Come with an open mind and open heart and dive deep into your own bliss!!!

Gentle Flow is a Vinyasa-based class that moves through gentler poses in a much slower pace, incorporating gentle stretching and strengthening movements which are performed in a sequence for maximum health benefits. This class lies somewhere along the spectrum between flow and longer-held poses (such as restorative/yin yoga). It offers nurturing, kindness, and compassion for the body, regardless of whether a student is injured or healthy, young or old, pregnant or not. Awareness of the breath helps to calm the mind and enables you to move deeper into the stretches. It’s accessible to all levels from beginners to advance and great for forming a morning practice.

Hatha Flow is great practice to start every morning. We will practice the traditional style of Surya Namaskara (Sun Salutation) followed by basic, gentle yoga poses connecting breath to movement in a slow and controlled manner. This class is meant to create vitality, immunity and overall improved health in the cardiovascular, muscular and nervous systems and is suitable for all levels, especially beginners who are new to yoga.

As a path of enlightenment through compassion for all beings, Jivamukti Yoga is a well-rounded and invigorating practise that blends modern day Hatha/Vinyasa, chanting mantras, uplifting music, meditative awareness and spiritual focus. Suitable for students that love a challenging practise but also want to go beyond asanas .

This unique class combination of Yin Yoga & Breathwork works specifically in activating the parasympathetic nervous system. We will begin with a 30-minute soft yoga practice to gently open the physical body in preparation for a profound breathwork session. The 3-Part Active Breathwork portion of this class will guide you into the deeper layers of your mind, heart, and spirit to release stuck emotions, old patterns, and stagnant energy. Class will end with a long soul-soothing savasana leaving you feeling lighter, balanced and more deeply connected all around

Yin is considered our “Moon” side and Yang is considered our “Sun” side. In this practice, we’ll bring equilibrium to both sides, creating balance between stronger, more physical poses directly followed by softer, longer-held poses. Expect this class to create both strength and flexibility - and you’ll definitely break a sweat!

Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga as exercise, incorporating principles of traditional Chinese medicine with poses that are held for longer periods of time than in other styles, typically staying for 3-5 minutes in each pose. The sequences of postures are meant to stimulate the channels of the subtle body known as meridians in Chinese medicine. Yin Yoga poses apply moderate stress to the connective tissues of the body—the tendons, fascia and ligaments—with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility.

Fusing the principles of Yin Yoga and qualities of Bhakti Yoga (gratitude, open-heartedness, humility, compassion, and devotion), Bhakti Yin is a soft, gentle, receptive, soulful, and devotional yoga practice where restorative postures are held 3-5 minutes, dropping deep into exploration of the Heart. Combining gentle postures with mantra chanting, inspirational quotes from great yogic saints, mystical poetry, prayer, visualizations, affirmations, aromatherapy, and much more to enhance a true connection with the Divine.

A sequence that combines traditional asanas, pranayama, bandhas, mudras and meditation based on Traditional Hatha Yoga applied to a modern practice that brings in all the key components for an integrated practice. This class is suitable for all levels and those interested in bridging the original teachings in a powerful way.

Going back thousands of years, sound vibrations through mantras not only heal the subtle body and purify the mind but has been proven to enhance deep meditative states, uplifting our vibrational frequency into higher states of consciousness. Relax in savasana as the sound healing takes place and feel more peaceful, light and calm as you listen to vibrational sounds of mantras and live music to soothe your nervous system and harmonize body, mind and spirit. Option to close the class by activating your own sound through Bhakti Yoga Kirtan.

Karma Yoga is one of the 4 Paths of Yoga and is known as the path of action, or selfless service towards others. As part of our YTT Program, graduates get to practice Karma Yoga by leading free community classes and gaining teaching experience as they embark on their journey as newly certified yoga instructors. Karma Community Classes are 60 mins, Yin/Vinyasa-based YOGA CLASSES open to the public recent AYS Graduates.

AYLAN KAI

FOUNDER

If you meet Aylan on the mat, take a yoga or kundalini class with her, you wouldn’t believe she lived a completely different life today than she did less than 5 years ago.  Prior to devoting herself completely to the yogic path and walking the spiritual journey of self-inquiry and consistent sadhana practices, she is a former marketing executive, data scientist & analytics professional with a highly successful, 20-year career leading Fortune 100 and 500 global brands to success. As she was pitching and winning over big clients, she was equally dedicated to her yoga practice and enjoying both endeavors along parallel paths.  Later, she left the corporate world behind when she decided to follow her Heart and move to Bali, exploring the depths of her Soul through yoga. It was when she started listening to her Heart that everything opened and expanded for her.  She now lives beyond her dreams, a life of true bliss, joy, abundance and love on the magical isle of the gods.  She shares both her knowledge and deep yoga experience along with her expertise from the corporate world with others, thus enabling those who desire to live in the spiritual world with equally professional success. 

Aylan is a RYT500 Yoga Teacher, 200/300hr Teacher Trainer, Kundalini Teacher, Reiki Healer, Clairvoyant and Founder of Aylan Yoga School.

 

 

ADAM MAHMOUD

HOLISTIC YOGA TEACHER & MEDITATION EDUCATOR

Adam is a highly skilled, world-renowned Meditation Educator, Holistic Yoga teacher and Life Coach. With 16+ years of professional experience as a teacher, educator and facilitator around the world, his audience & students reach far & wide across the globe, both online and in-person. In the digital space, he's featured on the highly popular Breethe meditation app where his teachings reach millions of people, has appeared on national television (the hit TV show Britain's Got Talent) and has written articles that have become widely recognized on health, wellbeing, and meditation. His in-person presence had him leading North America's largest Yoga & Meditation event for 2 years running, the Lole White Tour, with 8000 participants in attendance, Yoga Teacher Trainings and Meditation Teacher Trainings, not to mention regular seminars, workshops, coaching and classes.



Adam also enjoyed 8 years as a performance artist and event planner. He traveled the world with his own production team and was based in Ibiza Spain seasonally, performing in front of tens of thousands of people, celebrities, members of the Royal Family, and corporate events. He has collaborated with Warner Bros Studio & Cirque Du Soleil. Throughout this constant pressure and highly intense performance work, Adam gained valuable insights into accessing peak states for performance, rehabilitation recovery techniques for burnout, stress, and external pressures.

 

He is also a Qi Gong Teacher, Certified Basketball Coach, Breathwork Facilitator, Deep Tissue Massage Therapist, Personal Trainer, Rescue Scuba Diver, and Holistic Movement Teacher.


ALYONA SKVORTSOVA, MD

TANTRA & HATHA YOGA TEACHER

Alyona is a Physician with deep experience in medicine, anatomy, ayurveda and trauma-related yoga therapy. She was a medical doctor in rehabilitation centers in Ukraine, helping people heal through western medicine which later gave her the solid foundation in 2008 to move into the world of yoga, tantra, hatha, pranayama, meditation, ayurveda and yoga therapy - merging both western and eastern practices into holistic healing.

As founder of Shanti Yoga Studio in Ukraine and Teacher at Shanti Training School of Yoga Therapy, her experience is as vast as her education: Doctor of physical rehabilitation and physiotherapy in Kharkov Medical University from 2004-2013, Masters Degree of Rehabilitation, Institute of physical culture, Ukraine (2013) and St. Petersburg Institute of Oriental Rehabilitation Techniques (100 hours).
She studied authentic yoga for last 12 years with great masters such as Deshikachar (School of Krishnamacharya, Chennai), Sheshadri (Mysore school of Krishnamacharya), Madhavan (Shivanada school, Tamil Nadu) in India and modern teachers M. Baranov and I. Zhuravlev in Russia. Her teachings, practice and knowledge has been shared with students all over the world and we are proud to have her a part of our AYS team in Bali.


AUDREY SARQUILLA

BHAKTI YOGA TEACHER

 

Bhakta, Tantrika, Yogini, Audrey shares yoga from 30 years of a multi-lineage journey.

Teaching yoga for over 20 years, her invitation to students is to remember ultimately this is ‘your’ unique yoga journey. As a Teacher’s Teacher, she founded White Peacock Yoga school in 2013, focused on Bhakti, Mantra and Vinyasa.

After owning a yoga studio in Encinitas California, Audrey has traveled teaching yoga on several continents and now calls Bali her home.

KRISNA MELIALA

HATHA YOGA INSTRUCTOR

Krisna is an E-RYT500 with Yoga Alliance US who started his yoga journey in 2005 to recover from various sport injuries. The essence of Yoga has helped him during the process of healing, staying grounded, practicing self-love and living life authentically while giving him hope during difficult times. The practice of yoga asana has been a transformative tool for Krisna and a delightful compliment to deepen his sadhana and other limbs of yoga. Krisna emphasises his yoga class with the mix of balance, intuition, mindfulness of the breath and of the body as a union.

After living abroad for over 20 years and travelling to different parts of the world, Krisna quit his job at the Indonesian Embassy in Ecuador and stepped outside of his comfort zone to continue his path to deepen the knowledge and practice of yoga in Rishikesh, India. Upon returning to Bali, he’s dedicated his life to sharing and teaching yoga, both on and off the mat, on the isle of the gods.


KATIE NESBITT

VINYASA & BREATHWORK INSTRUCTOR

Katie Nesbitt grew up as a competitive athlete and gained a Sports Psychology degree from the states.  With this knowledge, she learned early on the importance of a strong mind-body connection and began teaching yoga in 2012 while also managing Corporate Wellness Programs for Fortune 10 and Fortune 100 companies in Los Angeles, CA.  Eventually, she left the corporate world, moved to Bali and dove fully into her passion of guiding others to optimal well-being through yoga, mindfulness, breathwork, and more.  

As a 500RYT Yoga Instructor & Breathwork Facilitator, she supports students to connect more deeply within themselves on the mat (in order to connect more authentically in life off the mat) through Vinyasa Yoga, Yin and Breathwork classes.  Katie guides students through grounded, creative and effective classes suitable for beginner or experienced yogis.  Her intelligent sequencing, playful spirit, and compassionate nature will lead you to more strength and expansion in your body, mind, heart, and soul.  

Katie is also a lead Somatic Therapist for a Trauma Recovery Program supporting international clients with a history of complex trauma. She also leads yoga teacher trainings and international retreats to help participants tap into their true nature and love of life through yoga, meditation, travel, and so much more. 


JULIA COBBAN

YIN AND REIKI TEACHER

Julia is a Yogini, Yoga Teacher, Woman's Coach & Reiki Master who empowers others with the wisdom  & ools to activate their inner sparkle, awaken their authentic voice and cultivate unshakeable confidence to step into the life they desire.

She calls on 14 years of experience in the wellness space, using a unique blend of coaching, mentoring, educating, somatics and voice activation work to access deeper levels, initiate breakthroughs and create long lasting transformation. Expect playful & creative sequencing connected to breath flows in her vinyasa-based classes and her unique voice transmissions in savasana will leave you feeling completely restored.  Julia's qualifications include 200H YTT in Costa Rica, Advanced YTT modules in US, Thai Massage Training in Chiang Mai, Reiki 1, 2 and Master in Bali, Ayurveda Life Coaching
